April 18, 1928 Obituary Isaac Gratton Walton Isaae Gratton Walton was
born August 21, 1846, near Greenfield, Illinois and departed this life April
11, 1928 at his home in Allen, Kans., aged 81 years 7 months and 21 days.
He lived in Illinois until 1908 when he moved to Kansas, where he has since resided. At the age of 21 he was united in marriage to Miss Louise Brannan. To this union was born one son, Henry of Roodhouse, Ill. This wife departed this life in 1876. He was again united in marriage to Miss Cathrine Worley, March 17 1885, who servives him. To this union were born four children, one daughter, Mrs. W.M. Powell, of Allen, Kans.; Roscoe of White Hall, Ill; Alonzo of Gillespie, Ill.; and Howard of Jacksonville Ill. Six grandchildren also survive him. All of the children were present at the funeral. Mr. Walton was a Civil war veteran enlisting in Company I-133 Regiment of Illinois Volunteers in 1864 and serving until the end of the war, when he received an honorable discharge. He believed in living simply and leaves a host of relatives, friends and neighbors to mourn his loss and who admired him for his honesty and integrity. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, April 13, at 2:30, conducted by Revs, Conrad and Patton, after which burial was made in the Allen cemetery. |
