Rest
Mrs. J.W.
McCray,
one of our pioneer citizens, who has been ill for several months with
cancer,
died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Milton Spade, near Admire,
Monday
night. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Allen
Wednesday
afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Brannon, after which the
remains
were laid to rest in the Allen cemetery;
Mrs. McCray came to Kansas from Dark County, Ohio in 1871.
She
is survived by one son, Perry McCray, of Topeka, and two daughters Mrs.
Milton
Spade, of Admire, and Mrs. Sol Hicks, of this city, also four brothers,
John
Gray of Union City, Ind., Mont Gray of Bushong, William Gray, Watson,
Mo.
and Joe Gray, Dayton, Ohio.
