Died

Allie, the 2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Johnston, died suddenly last Saturday morning, April 4, 1891, of Membraneous Croup, and the remains were intered in the East park on the following day.  The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Dice and a very large crowd attended.  The little fellow was taken sick the day previous to his death while his parents were at Emporia.  Upon their return home everything possible was done to relieve the suffering child.  He apparently was doing well but in the early morning hours he suddenly ceased breathing, and his spirit took flight to the realms of glory.

(note:  at some time the grave was moved from the east park to the Allen Cemetery)
