Allen, Kansas, Friday, January 14, 1898

 After an illness of about ten days the infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Giger who reside south of town died Saturday night.  The funeral services were held at the M.P. church in this city Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. Lane and the remains were, followed by a large number of neighbors and friends, tenderly conveyed to the Allen cemetery where they were laid to rest.
  Mr. and Mrs. Giger have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their darling babe which promised to give them so much comfort and joy.
