J.R. Cook Dead
Another of our pioneer citizens who has been in poor health for several
months past, died Friday of last week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.J.
Rasmussen in Topeka, at the age of 80 years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, January 22 at the Allen
M.E. church, conducted by Rev. Patton with a select choir in charge of the
musical service, after which burial was made in the Allen cemetery.
Mr. Cook was one of our best and oldest citizens, a faithful member
of the church, and was honored and respected by all who knew him.
The surviving wife and children will have the sympathy of the entire
community in this their sad hour of affliction. Complete obituary will
appear in the Journal next week.
