Deaths.
Perrier Joseph Charvoz died at his
home south-west of this city Tuesday morning at 2:30 o'clock.
The deceased was born in Switzerland, Vabais county in the year 1817
and was married to his present wife Rosaline Carron in the year 1847. To
them was born sixteen children, eleven of whom with his aged wife survive
him. He first settled in Wisconsin in 1867 then came to the Sunflower
state where he continuously resided until the time of his death. He
was reared in the Catholic faith and endeavored always to lead a Christian
life. He received an injury last fall from which he suffered great
pain, but bore it with patience and fortitude.
The funeral took place at the house Tuesday afternoon, conducted by
Rev. Conrad, and the remains, followed by a large number of friends and relatives,
were taken to the Allen cemetery for interment.
Those from abroad who attended the funeral were, Mrs. Cochenett and
two daughters, of Emporia, Louis and Arthur Charvoz, of Osage City, sons
and daughters of the deceased.
